IRVING, Texas – Preseason Conference USA Offensive Player of the Year Martha Thomas of the Charlotte women's soccer team has been named as the league's offensive player of the week for Sept. 4, as announced by the conference office Monday. It marks the first honor for the 49ers this season after the weekly awards began three weeks ago.
Thomas's accolade is the third of her career, as she also picked up the plaudit Nov. 3, 2014, and Oct. 3, 2016. She joins Jill Currie and Courtney Crandell as the only three-time Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week selections in program history.
