IRVING, Texas – Charlotte junior midfielder/forward Martha Thomas has been named the Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday Oct. 3. It marks the second weekly honor of her career and first since 2014.
Thomas tallied four goals over the weekend, as the Niners split home matches with UTEP and UTSA. She opened the weekend with two goals on four shots, all on goal, against the Miners Friday night. Her other two non-scoring attempts were both solid looks as she nearly posted her first career hat trick.
The Preseason Conference USA Offensive Player of the Year then added two more goals, including her first game winner of the campaign, in Sunday's come-from-behind victory over UTSA.
