CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The top-scoring tandem in the last two years of Conference USA women's soccer was at it again Sunday afternoon, as senior and sophomore each scored in the second half to give the 49ers a 2-1 come-from-behind triumph over East Carolina. The victory was the fourth straight for the Niners as they marked the close of non-conference play with the contest against a longtime in-state rival and former league foe.
Thomas evened the scoreboard with her fifth of the season in the 50th minute after Charlotte (5-3) found itself down one at the intermission.
