November 17, 2013 - The Charlotte 49ers captured the Conference USA Tournament title with a 1-0 win over Tulsa in the Championship game played at Transamerica Field. This marked the second conference tournament title in the program's history. Charlotte won the 1983 Sun Belt Conference Tournament Championship.
Charlotte earned a national seed in the 2013 NCAA Tournament.
Tyler Gibson scored the game-winning goal on a penalty kick in the 88th minute.
In the 88th minute, Charlotte’s David Mayer took a pass out wide moving towards the left side of the box. Tulsa's defender was called for a penalty as Mayer went down just inside the box.
