Mar. 12, 2008 - The Charlotte 49ers were ranked 3rd in the nation in the Golf World / Nike GCAA Coaches poll following a fantastic fall and fast start to the spring campaign. The 49ers won four tournaments in the fall, and added a runner-up finish in its second tournament of the spring to maintain its ranking in the nation's top five.
Led by a stout lineup that included Jonas Enander Hedin, Corey Nagy, Stefan Wiedergruen, Trevor Murphy, Andrew DiBitetto and Will Golden, Charlotte would go on to add two more tournament titles, including the 2008 Atlantic 10 Championship on its way to an 8th-place finish at the NCAA Championships.
