EL PASO, Texas - After a strong showing in Saturday's prelims set the stage for an exciting final day, the Charlotte Track & Field team delivered several podium-worthy performances as the women's squad placed third and the men's team placed fifth at the 2017 Conference USA Outdoor Championships at Kidd Field.
The 49er women's third-place with 85.5 points marks their best finish in the C-USA Outdoor Championships since also finishing third, but with 75 points, all the wya back in 2005. It was a tight battle for that top-3 spot, but the Niners managed to stave off Southern Miss (85 points) and Rice (82 points).
