CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Charlotte 49ers men's and women's tennis teams, nearly 80 tennis players and 20 adaptive players (participants in the Adaptive Sports and Adventures Program), gathered at the Halton Wagner Tennis Complex for the fifth annual Strokes for Spokes round-robin tournament Sunday.
All proceeds benefited the Adaptive Sports and Adventures Program (ASAP) of Carolinas Healthcare System. This organization introduces adaptive sports to individuals who have had a life altering injury or disease. This year's event raised over $12,000. Over the past five years, this fundraiser has contributed $44,000 to the Adaptive Sports and Adventures Program.
