Every step taken in the shoes of an athlete can present overwhelming challenges. Going to a new school, a new state and adopting new philosophies from coaches can help create a whole new perspective for college athletes. Tai Martin, a sophomore from Weston, Fla., playing for Charlotte women's tennis, gives a little insight on the obstacles she faced early in her career.
"Being able to handle physically going to school, since I was homeschooled (in Florida), and set aside study time along with workouts was an adjustment. Back home I would always be at the courts, with workouts and just do my school work there," said Martin.
