ATLANTA – Junior Sierra Stone earned a three-set decision at No. 5 singles but her win was the only victory for Charlotte Saturday, as the 49ers fell 6-1 to No. 47 Georgia State in Atlanta.
Stone rallied after dropping the first set to overcome the Panthers’ Lara Vovk 1-6, 7-6, 10-8 in their No. 5 clash. Her triumph is the second of the spring, as she has worked to rejoin the lineup after an early-season injury.
Charlotte (5-9) was unable to acquire any more points, as Georgia State (10-5) claimed the early 1-0 lead after doubles and then seized control during singles play.
