CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Trae Starnes tossed a career high five innings while Dominic Pilolli delivered the knockout punch in the top of the tenth as 15th-ranked Charlotte baseball took down North Carolina 4-1 in 10 innings Tuesday night. Charlotte scored their 30th win of the season by breaking a scoreless game open in the extra inning.
"It was an all-out battle tonight," began Head Coach Robert Woodard. "On the mound, nine pitchers threw in the game and all nine guys got after it. It had that feel of whoever threw the first punch would win the game.
