DALLAS – Senior Abby Stapleton of the Charlotte women's soccer program has been named the March 16 Conference USA Goalkeeper of the Week. The honor is the first of her career and the second by a 49ers player, this spring.
SHUTOUT GETS THE AWARD
Stapleton was the last line of defense for Charlotte in its 1-0 road conference victory Friday night at Middle Tennessee. She finished with six saves against the Blue Raiders, matching her season high, including a stop against Peyton DePriest, the nation's current leader in goals scored and the preseason Conference USA Player of the Year selection.
