Charlotte, N.C. – Ryan Spaulding tallied his second goal of the season as the Charlotte 49ers (5-4-4, C-USA: 2-1-3) tied Conference USA South Carolina (4-8-2, C-USA: 0-4-2), 1-1, in double overtime at Transamerica Field on Senior Night. Prior to the game, the 49ers honored seniors Sean Bowman, Banks Fisher, Marco Sunol-Rojas and Zhuvonte Wilson.
"We started the game off so flat," Charlotte coach Kevin Langan said. "It shocked me a bit because we haven't done that and we knew the importance of the game so to start that flat was completely unacceptable.
