Southern Miss rushed off to a 38-7 halftime lead en route to a 66-21 victory over Charlotte, Saturday at M.M. Roberts Stadium. That is the most points allowed by the 49ers this season.
"We ran into a pretty good team, tonight," said head coach Brad Lambert, who used eight defensive starters whose first career start came this season. "Southern Miss played really well. They got hot on us. They made some plays defensively to score and got the ball in the end zone that really hurt us early in the game. We couldn't handle them up front defensively – we couldn't block them.
