CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The awards continue for Charlotte softball, as sophomore utility player Becca Shipper was named College Sports Madness Conference USA Player of the Week, the organization announced Tuesday morning.
Shipper, the current C-USA Player of the Week, is coming off a stellar week of play for the 49ers where she recorded 13 hits in 20 at bats.
While serving as backstop for five of the contests, Shipper helped guide her pitching staff to four games allowing just three hits or less and a combined 50 strikeouts.
Offensively, the leadoff hitter served as a spark plug for the squad, reaching base in all but four plate appearances entering the weekend, and reaching base 20 out of 25 appearances during the week.
