The Charlotte 49ers softball team had a disappointing weekend, being swept by conference foe Marshall in three games. The first game on Saturday started out promising, but ended with the Herd (20-4, 6-0 C-USA) taking home the close victory of 2-3 in the last inning. The 49ers (16-13, 1-5 C-USA) fell yet again to their opponents with the final score of 8-4 in their second game on Saturday evening. Marshall concluded the weekend and secured the sweep after a 8-0 victory Sunday afternoon.

The first few innings started off slow when neither team managed to score a run until the bottom of the third.
