CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte softball (20-14) picked up its eighth shutout of the season, taking the sweep from Winthrop (12-25) 2-0 and 9-1 (6 inn.) Tuesday evening at Phillips Softball Complex.
“A lot of positive things happened today,” coach Aimee DeVos said of the wins. “We had nice and strong pitching performances and the offense was pretty incredible. It was a nice little push, and we can definitely use that to head into Wednesday’s game with South Carolina. Haley Pace has been as consistent as she can be at the plate for us, and I think that it was contagious today- everyone felt like they could just come up to the plate and attack the pitcher, and we were aggressive.
