CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte softball (27-21, 7-11 C-USA) suffered a series sweep, after falling to No. 22 Florida Atlantic (41-7, 16-2 C-USA) 6-0 Sunday at Phillips Softball Complex in Charlotte.
Defensive miscues and timely hitting from the Owls proved to be the 49ers weakness, as FAU scored once in the second, another in the third, two in the fourth, and two in the sixth.
Freshman Lizzy Birch led the Niner offense, going 2-for-3. Sophomores Erin Powers, Grace Beatty, and Haley Pace, and freshman Emma Ocker tallied the other four hits for Charlotte.
