Softball Suffers Sunday Loss to UTSA

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Charlotte softball team suffered its second run-ruled contest of the year, falling 12-0 to UTSA on Sunday at Phillips Softball Complex.

The Niners were held to just five hits on the day, but threatened in the first, second, fourth, and fifth innings, leaving at least one runner on each time.

The Roadrunners opened the game up early, scoring four runs in the first. They added two in the second, two in the third, and four in the fifth.

In the bottom of the first, back-to-back singles from freshmen Kiersten Berrier and Emma Ocker put two on for the Niners as they looked to retaliate, and then classmate Lizzy Birch reached via walk to load the bases, but alas, would all be left there.
