CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Charlotte softball team split its doubleheader with Conference USA foe UTSA Saturday, dominating the first game in a 7-1 victory for their first league win of the year, before falling 2-1 in nine innings in the nightcap, at Phillips Softball Complex.
Charlotte is now 17-9 (1-4 C-USA), while UTSA sits at 10-17 (4-1 C-USA) after thTee Saturday split.
Senior Lexi Betancourt registered a stellar performance in Game 1, striking out eight while scattering just three hits and four walks in the complete game victory. Betancourt also picked up a strikeout when she entered in relief in the ninth inning of Game 2.
