Softball Slips to South Carolina Wednesday

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Charlotte softball (20-15) team dropped its Wednesday contest with South Carolina (25-9), falling 13-2 at Phillips Softball Complex.

Sophomore designated hitter Bailey Rhoney recorded the only two hits for the Niners, reaching base in all three plate appearances after earning a walk in the fifth inning. Freshman Emma Ocker and sophomore Erin Powers registered the two runs for Charlotte.

South Carolina opened the game up in the third inning, plating three runs to take an early lead. The Gamecocks followed up in the fourth inning, bringing 13 batters to the plate and scoring ten more times to take a 13-0 lead.
