CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Charlotte softball team returns home after a 15-game road trip, welcoming West Division foe UTSA for the 49ers’ Conference USA home opener at Phillips Softball Complex.
The 49ers and Roadrunners will face off in a twinbill Saturday, with games at 1 and 3 p.m., with the conclusion on Sunday at noon and airing on Fox Sports Network.
Charlotte enters the weekend 16-8, and looks to snap a four-game losing streak. The Niners’ pitching staff of Lexi Betancourt and Haley Wiseman continues to excel with seven shutouts on the season already, the most for this early into the season since 1989 and bettering 19 seasons already, including last year.
