COLUMBIA, S.C. - Junior Haley Wiseman carried a no-hitter into the bottom of the seventh inning, but the Charlotte softball team fell, 2-1, in heartbreaking fashion after South Carolina plated two in the final frame at Carolina Softball Stadium on Sunday.
A strikeout began the seventh for Wiseman, who brought her A-game in a matchup with the Gamecocks. An errant pitch struck the next batter however, opening the flood gates. South Carolina's Kennedy Clark slapped a single into right field and Kenzie McGuire hit a single into center field to load the bases before a five-pitch walk would allow the tying run to score.
