CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Niners Softball secured the win in the opening game of a three-game conference series against UAB, on Friday night.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Charlotte got on the board first when Kari Shedrick homered to center field in the bottom of the second to make it 1-0. After about an hour of delay due to weather, the game resumed in the top of the third where the Blazers promptly responded to tie the game.
The Niners scored again, bringing four runs around in the bottom of the third. The inning began with a double from Gracie Suggs who came around to score two batters later on an Olivia Williams RBI single.
