UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Powered by three home runs including a back-to-back scenario in the sixth, 14 hits and solid pitching from Philip Perry, Nate Traugh and Austin Wynn, Charlotte took care of Winthrop 7-1 in Uptown Charlotte on Tuesday night. The victory snaps a four-game skid for the Niners while putting an end to the five-game win streak by the Eagles.
“We beat a good team tonight,” started Head Coach Loren Hibbs. “Winthrop’s been playing really well. Thanks to Niner Nation for being vocal tonight. Our guys really appreciate that, it was a great atmosphere to play in tonight.
