IRVING, Texas – Anna Shelden, Charlotte's redshirt sophomore netminder, has been recognized as the Oct. 17 Conference USA co-Goalkeeper of the Week as unveiled by the league office Monday. It is the first honor of her career.
She anchored the 49ers defensively with back-to-back shutouts over Louisiana Tech and Southern Miss this past weekend. In the two games, she did not have to post a save as she played behind a stout Niners defensive unit which held the two teams to a combined 12 shots, including just four by the Golden Eagles Sunday.
The Raleigh, North Carolina, product has extended her scoreless streak to 353:59, including three-straight clean sheets, over the last two weeks in Conference USA action.
