NEW ORLEANS - For the first time in program history, a Charlotte 49er has been named the USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week. Sophomore Nick Scudder had a dominant weekend at the Conference USA Indoor Championships breaking the 5000m school record, winning gold in two events and being named Co-High Scorer of the Meet after totaling 20 points en route to Charlotte's second straight men's team indoor conference title.
"Our men's distance group had a lot of expectations going into the weekend and Nick was going to be a big part of that," head cross country coach and assistant track and field coach Joseph Lynn said.
