CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte softball fell to 9-16 and 3-3 in Conference USA play after a 4-0 defeat to Florida Atlantic Sunday at Sue M. Daughtridge Stadium.
The big hit for the Owls (17-15, 5-1 C-USA) came off the bat of Emily Lochten in the top of the third inning.
Charlotte's pitcher started the game retiring the first seven FAU batters before walking the eighth and ninth-place hitters with one out in the third. Lochten drove a 1-0 pitch off the scoreboard just beyond the right centerfield wall, giving the Owls a 3-0 lead.
FAU added a single run in the fourth for the final tally of the game.
