Sang earns All-American honors with 6th at NCAA's

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Charlotte's redshirt junior Caroline Sang claimed her third All-American honor in five months, placing sixth in a field of 255 runners at the 2017 NCAA Cross-Country Championships Saturday on the 6,000-meters course at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer Park.

The sixth-place finish is the best by a 49er at the NCAA Championships in program history. She becomes just the fourth individual and third from the women's program to earn All-American honors, joining Molly Kerin, Kelly Travis and Kenneth Svendsen. Kerin finished 27th and 18th in 1994 and 1995, respectively. Travis placed 30th, while Svendsen crossed the line 25th at the 1999 championships.
