CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Getting the Charlotte track & field team's second split-squad weekend in as many weeks off to a stellar start, junior distance runner Caroline Sang took down the Charlotte school record for the women's outdoor 3,000-meter run at William & Mary's Colonial Relays Thursday evening.
The Eldoret Town, Kenya native topped the field of runners in Williamsburg by posting a time of 9:31.36, the fastest any 49er has ever done it. The time break's Jen Taylor's 2001 record-breaking performance of 9:39.74 at the Penn Relays. It also bests Sang's previous PR in the event of 9:46.
