Senior Sydney Rowan led the 49ers on Senior Day, blasting a team-best 11 kills as Charlotte (10-4; C-USA: 8-3) won its fifth straight match with a 3-0 (25-16; 25-16; 25-18) sweep of Old Dominion (7-5; C-USA: 4-3).
"We're super proud of Sydney and blessed to have her as a part of our program," said 49ers head coach Karen Weatherington. "She always leads the way in so many different ways that people don't see outside of our locker room and outside of the gym -- but today she just stepped it up. We knew ODU was going to come in and challenge us and she led the way in the locker room to talk about the things we needed to do to get it done and then she showed it on the court today.
