Retired Charlotte 49ers Director of Athletics Judy Rose has recently received among the highest honors possible from the university and the state of North Carolina.
Rose, who announced her retirement after 43 years with the university, effective June 30, 2018, was named the university's Athletic Director Emerita by Chancellor Dr. Philip Dubois at a retirement celebration, May 15 and has also received the state's Order of the Long Leaf Pine. Earlier in April, she earned a UNC Charlotte Honorary Alumna Award.
In naming Rose Athletic Director Emerita, and nominating her for The Order of the Long Leaf Pine, Dubois noted Rose's well-documented success story in leading the 49ers athletic department over the past 28 years.
