Road Loss for Charlotte Thursday Afternoon

GREENVILLE, N.C. – Charlotte women's tennis secured first-set wins in three singles matches but each of those contests were left unfinished as the 49ers dropped a 4-0 decision at East Carolina Thursday afternoon in a battle of in-state foes.

The 49ers were looking to rally after the Pirates claimed an early 1-0 lead after doubles play. East Carolina (7-8) captured the No. 1 and No. 3 tilts with the No. 2 meeting proving to be the most competitive. The Niners' Immie Cowper and Tai Martin trailed by only a game, 5-4, when the match was called with the point awarded.
