INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Recent Charlotte standout student-athletes Laia Raventós of the women's basketball team and Meredith Harris of the softball program were named as the school's nominees for the 2019 NCAA Woman of the Year award, as announced Wednesday afternoon.
The NCAA Woman of the Year honors the academic achievements, athletics excellence, community service and leadership of outstanding female college athletes. This is the 29th year for the award and there are a record 585 nominations across all three NCAA divisions.
To be eligible, a nominee must have competed and earned a varsity letter in an NCAA-sponsored sport, must have completed eligibility in her primary sport and must have earned her undergraduate degree by Summer 2019.
