CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte sophomore Conor Purcell got his 2017-18 season started off on the right foot by earning Conference USA's first men's "Golfer of the Week" award announced on Wednesday afternoon. This marks Purcell's second-career weekly award picking up on his all-Freshman team honors a year ago.
The sophomore recorded his first top-10 of the season with a ninth-place finish at the Gopher Invitational. Purcell started the year with a two-under round of 69 carding five birdies during the opening round. In a suspended round two due to darkness, Purcell brought home a 73 (+2) with three birdies and followed that up with a 72 (+1) using three more birdies.
