VESTAVIA HILLS, Ala. – Charlotte men's golf took on 36 of the 54 holes consisting of the Jerry Pate National Intercollegiate and find themselves in 11th with one round to play. The Niners were led by Conor Purcell who currently sits inside the top-20 in the top-notch field.
Purcell is tied for 16th after a one-under round of 69 followed up by an even-par 70. After an opening bogey on 10 to start the tournament, Purcell bounced back with three-straight birdies on 14, 15 and 16 to go two-under. A bogey on 17 would be his last blemish in the first round finishing with 10-straight pars.
