CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Sophomore Conor Purcell posted back-to-back rounds of 68 to sit eight-under and hold the overnight lead at the 2017 Janney Shootout hosted by VCU. The Niners put up back-to-back six-under rounds of 282 to find themselves just three back of West Virginia heading into the final 18 on Tuesday.
Purcell led the Niners in round one carding a solid four-under round of 68. In the shotgun start, Purcell had the luxury of going off of the first hole draining birdies on four, five and nine for a three-under side of 33.
