First-year head coach Will Healy's first practice of the 2019 preseason camp is in the books.
"I'm even more excited about (being here) than in the spring," Healy said. "I'm excited about what's about to happen. We're on a mission and today was Day One. We have to get after it and get better day-to-day and understand we can't take a day off."
Charlotte is coming off a 5-7 season that included a 4-4 mark in Conference USA. The 49ers return 12 starters, including preseason all-C-USA choices Benny LeMay at running back, Alex Highsmith at defensive end and C-USA Preseason Special Teams Player of the Year Jonathan Cruz at kicker.
