KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – Freshman Cecilie Finne-Ipsen and sophomore Jillian Farrell each shot a one-over round of 73 as Charlotte women's golf sits ninth after the opening 18 holes. The 49ers, ranked #47 in the country by Golfstat, is just 10 shots back of second in a tight-knit field.
Both Finne-Ipsen and Farrell had to bounce back on the final nine to shoot their 73 beginning with the freshman's back-to-back birdies on 10 and 11 to help erase three front side bogies. Staying one-over with two to play, a final birdie on 17 and bogey on 18 kept her plus-one.
