CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Charlotte 49ers pitcher Carson Pace was one of 14 Conference USA student-athletes to be named a recipient of the Jim Castañeda Postgraduate Scholarship as announced by the conference office on Thursday. For the past 12 seasons, Conference USA has given out the $4,000 scholarship to exceptional student-athletes who recently graduated, as picked by C-USA's Faculty Athletics Representatives and approved by the Board of Directors.
During Pace's last season with the 49ers, she started in nine games and appeared in 19 in the circle, leading the team. In 74.2 innings, she struck out 57, collected three saves and five wins.
