KINGSTON SPRINGS, Tenn. – Carson Ownbey became the fourth player all-time to record a hole-in-one during tournament play as #42 Charlotte shot a seven-under 277 climbing into a tie for fifth at the NCAA Kingston Springs Regional. The 49ers recorded the second-lowest round of the day and in the regional thus far.

Ownbey joined Olafur Loftsson, Seth Gandy and teammate John Gough as the only Niners to record an ace during tournament play. Ownbey used the ace and two front side birdies to make the turn at one-under 35 before back-to-back birdies on 15 and 16 ended his day with a two-under 69.
