CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Behind a complete total team performance on both ends of the field and a goal by Preston Popp, the No. 12 Charlotte 49ers (6-2-1, C-USA: 6-0-0) remained perfect in Conference USA with a 1-0 shutout win over FIU (3-4-1, C-USA: 2-3-1) on Senior Day.
"I am really proud of the team," Charlotte coach Kevin Langan said. "Everyone's stepping up around the program. I think we played some beautiful soccer when we had to, created some quality scoring chances; it'd have been nice to bury one or two more.
