The Charlotte men’s soccer team opened their home season with a 1-0 victory over the Winthrop Falcons Saturday at TransAmerica stadium in a long fought defensive battle. The 15th ranked 49ers have now won 10 of their last 11 home openers.
“I think there are a lot of positives that we can take away from this game,” Charlotte coach Kevin Langan said. “We had a lot of near miss chances but we just kept going and going and going and that’s the real big positive thing for us tonight. That mindset and emphasis for us to keep going, limit your opponent, and if it doesn’t fall our way don’t think that it’s not going to be our night.
