Niners Upended by Raiders' Balanced Attack

Charlotte 49ers quarterback Hasaan Klugh threw for a career-high 258 yards, and Charlotte held Middle Tennessee to seven second-half points, but it was not enough to overcome a 21-point first-half deficit as the Blue Raiders scored a 35-21 victory over Charlotte (1-9; 1-5), Saturday afternoon at Jerry Richardson Stadium.

Middle Tennessee (5-5; 3-3) came into the game with a dangerous air attack, courtesy of QB Brent Stockstill, who was in just his second game back from injury. But, it was the running of burly back Tavares Thomas that proved the difference. Thomas, a converted linebacker, rushed for a career-high 195 yards and two first-half touchdowns as the Blue Raiders built a 28-7 lead at the break.
