HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Charlotte softball picked up its third league win Saturday, topping Marshall 5-2 behind a trio of sophomores two-hit performances at Dot Hicks Field in Huntington, W.Va.
With the win, the Niners improve to 22-16 (3-7 C-USA), while the Herd drops to 20-18 (6-4 C-USA).
Taylor Byrne and Haley Pace each hit homeruns as one of their two hits on the day, the first time this season Charlotte has recorded two homers in a game. Pace also doubled in a run, and classmate Bailey Rhoney also collected two hits with an RBI and run.
