Richmond, Va. – Charlotte won nine of the ten matches to complete a doubleheader sweep over Richmond (4-1) and Temple (5-0) to finish a perfect 4-0 this weekend at the VCU Shootout.
In the first match of the day, the 49ers defeated Richmond, 4-1. In doubles, Charlotte's Constandinos Christoforou and Max Benaim defeated Richmond's Caleb Troy and Jonathan Quenard, 6-4, 4-6, 6-0.
The 49ers won three singles matches to claim the overall victory. At number two singles, Charlotte's Leonardo Menezes lost to Richmond's Alexandre Felisa, 6-1, 6-1. At number three singles, Charlotte's Alejandro Garcia Moreno defeated Richmond's Canyon Teague, 6-3, 6-2.
