BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Charlotte women's basketball continued its late-season charge, winning its league-best fifth-in-a-row by knocking off current Conference USA leader (RV/—) UAB, 80-71, Saturday afternoon. The 49ers maintained their foothold on fourth place in the league standings, while snapping the Blazers' seven-game win streak.
LEADERS
It was another well-rounded, all-around team effort which led to the Niners' triumph against a long-time conference foe. Senior Nyilah Jamison-Myers proved to be too much to handle again from her post position, scoring 20 points on 7-of-11 attempts and 6-of-10 at the line, while grabbing seven rebounds and blocking five shots, including several emphatically out-of-bounds, in 29 minutes.
