CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte softball opens its home schedule with a 10-game home stand over the next 12 days when South Carolina of the Southeastern Conference visits Sue M. Daughtridge Stadium Wednesday afternoon.
The Niners (2-0) will officially dedicate the stadium in a pregame ceremony.
South Carolina (4-1) is the first of 11 games against schools from the Power-5 Conferences and the first matchup with a team who received votes or ranked in this week's top-25 poll.
South Carolina won last season's matchup in walk-off fashion, despite 6.1 no-hit innings by Haley Wiseman.
Haley Pace deposited a solo homerun over the left field wall in left field to give Charlotte a 1-0 lead in the fourth inning.
