ORLANDO, Fla. – A pair of dominant pitching performances propelled the Charlotte softball team to back-to-back shutout victories Friday at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World in Orlando.
The 49ers move to 11-0, and sit one game away from tying the school’s best win streak and best start, both set in 2007.
Ace hurler Lexi Betancourt fanned 10 and allowed just four hits as she picked up her league-leading seventh win of the year in her seventh complete game of the year and second shutout, and sophomore Haley Wiseman followed suit with a lights-out, career-best 15 Ks, allowing just two hits in a six-inning shutout for her fourth victory of the year.
