Murfreesboro, Tenn. – Behind three singles wins and two doubles wins, the Charlotte 49ers (9-8) defeated Conference USA foe Florida Atlantic (12-7), 4-3, in their first match of the Conference USA Pod at Middle Tennessee.
"What an incredible college match," Charlotte coach Jeremy Feldman said. "I'm so proud of our team's toughness and ability to handle and overcome adversity. They fought so hard for each other. I'm just proud of our entire team today."
Charlotte won two of the three doubles matches to clinch the doubles point. At number two doubles, Charlotte's Oriol Puig Forne and Leonardo Menezes lost to Florida Atlantic's Jason Legall and Ignacio Garcia, 6-2.
