Niners Knock Off ODU 5-3; Look for Sweep Sunday

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Charlotte 49ers rattled off four unanswered runs on Saturday afternoon to top Old Dominion 5-3 inside Hayes Stadium. The victory clinches the Niners second-straight Conference USA series and fourth overall in league play.

"Today was a really good day for a variety of reasons," began Head Coach Loren Hibbs. "We had baseball alumni here today, we played ok and efficiently playing great defense there at the end. A lot of positives to take from this and just a good day all the way around."

Charlotte (21-17, 9-8 C-USA) wasted no time in getting on the board during the opening inning as Jackson Mims began things with a one-out single to left on his first pitch.
